Longtime Fans Watch “All My Children” Finale
The final episode of the beloved daytime show “All My Children” aired its final episode Friday. After 41 years and more than 30 Emmys the cast of ABC’s long time soap said goodbye. Christine Cupples had watched “All My Children” for as long as she could remember. While watching the last episode, she said, “You know, it’s like losing something.” Since day one, “All My Children” has been the home of some of daytime’s most shocking and ground-breaking story lines. Cupples’ favorite character, Erica Kane, played by actress Susan Lucci, was past of the most memorable moments in the fictitious Pennsylvania town of Pine Valley. “She’s devilish,” said Cupples of the Erica Kane character. “All My Children” is being replaced by a new show called “The Chew.” The one-hour lifestyle series is scheduled to debut Monday, Sept. 26th at 12 o’clock. For Cupples, Friday marked a sad day. She hates to see her beloved soap say goodbye but realizes all good things must come to an end. “You know, it’s like everything else, it has to wind up.”
