The Carl Perkins Civic Center was turned into the site of a couture fashion show, Tuesday night, as 13 local businesses took part in “Runway for a Cure.” A sell out crowd came out for the 17th annual event organized by the American Cancer Society in honor of breast cancer awareness. “We are just trying to encourage women to do their monthly breast exam, to go for their year checkup, to eat healthy, just take five minutes a day to think about themselves,” said Kristi Turnbow, Chair of the event. Four of the event’s honorary chair members are also breast cancer survivors.
