AT&T Gives Money for Jackson State Scholarships
Ten thousand dollars, that is how much leaders with communications giant AT&T are donating to the education of Jackson State Community College students. The money is part of the company’s “Completion Scholarship Program,” and will help non-traditional students complete their college degrees or their Accelerated Pathway Technical certificates. The donation is part of AT&T’s $130,000 gift to the Tennessee Board of Regents and will be distributed among the TBR’s 13 community colleges. “We’re targeting non-traditional students, those who have full-time jobs, who have families at home, those doing something else other than just going to school,” said Trey Rabon, Regional External Affairs Director with AT&T. “We want to try and give them the tools that they need to be able to continue through and finish their degree.” Two other West Tennessee community colleges made the list for the $10,000 donations. They are Dyersburg State Community College and Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis.
