Investigators Search for Glass Street Shooter
A 21-year-old man was shot last night in the 100-block of Glass Street in east Jackson. Police are not releasing the name of the victim. He is in stable condition. The shooting occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m., Tuesday. The victim told police he was having car trouble when he stopped and popped his car’s hood. According to the victim, when he lowered the hood two men were standing there. He say they robbed him and shot him in the back. The suspects are two black males. Jackson Police Lieutenant Tyreece Miller said, “It appears it is a crime of opportunity. That is a heavily populated area. It’s possible that the victim as he said pulled over to check for car trouble. Someone could have seen him as an easy target.”. Lt. Miller went on to say that the shooting is not related to the deadly shooting that occurred just a few miles away, about an hour and a half before.
