New Bladder Control Therapy Offered in Jackson
A new therapy for bladder control is now available for patients in Jackson. Regional Urology Associates is now offering “Interstim Therapy,” which is designed to treat urinary urge incontinence or symptoms of urgency and frequency. The therapy uses a small device to send electrical pulses to a nerve that controls the bladder and muscles that manage urinary function. “It regulates the signals going to the bladder, so if the bladder is getting to many signals it slows them down. If it’s not getting enough, it speeds them up,” said Dr. Brent Morris, Urologist. “It basically helps the bladder get its timing down so that it can work more effectively.” A physician’s examination and evaluation can determine whether you are a candidate for the procedure.
