Bethel U. and HCMC Break Ground on New Facility

Thursday was a big day for the City of Paris and Bethel University, as the college broke ground on its newest satellite campus. Bethel and the Henry County Medical Center are teaming up for education and the building of a new diagnostic center and university campus. Along with traditional classes, the site in Paris will focus on health care careers and offering students a location to earn their clinical hours without having to drive long distances. “To be able to get all their clinicals in one place is huge for the students and it’s good for their education,” said Steve Prosser, Vice President of Bethel. “They can learn more and don’t have to spend a lot of time driving to smaller hospitals in the middle of the night to get clinical settings, so that is tremendous for our students.” Organizers said they hope to have the facility open by October of 2012.
