Car and Train Collide on Old Medina
The driver of a car had an unfortunate encounter with a train, literally, Friday afternoon. Investigators say the 50-year-old Jackson man drove his 2007 Nissan Versa into the path of the train, which was pulling 42 boxcars along the tracks that cross Old Medina Road. It happened just before 1:00 p.m. The nose of the car went under the train and was torn away from the rest of the vehicle. Madison County deputies say the driver told them he stopped but somehow still collided with the train. He was treated for minor injuries.
