Madison-Haywood Developmental Celebrates 40 Years

A group known for giving job opportunities to special needs adults in West Tennessee celebrated two milestones, Thursday. A ribbon cutting was held at Madison-Haywood Developmental Services for the expansion of its location on Garland Drive. The day also marks 40 years of service the organization has provided. Leaders said the expansion will allow all of their services to be under one roof. It also accommodates their increasing number of clients. “We were already overcrowded with office space and space for the individual to work in our workshops,” said Bill Brewer, Executive Director. “We are now able to spread out a little more.” Also, Thursday, plans for an on-site tribute garden were unveiled. Those in attendance were give the chance to leave their mark in the form of a memorial engraved brick along its pathway.
