Traffic Patterns To Be Monitored

A study to be carried out in Middle Tennessee will seek to connect health and transportation.

Hundreds of people in 10 counties, including Nashville and the surrounding area, will be recruited to wear global positioning system monitors and accelerometers, according to The Tennessean

Michael Skipper, executive director of the Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, said it will be the agency’s first research into physical activity and how people get from one place to another.

The project will study the daily travel and commuting patterns of 6,000 people from city apartment dwellers to people who live in rural homes.
