Fisher Indicted for Raping Child
An 82-year-old man is facing indictment for raping and inappropriately touching a 4-year-old girl. Jackson police investigators presented the case of Robert Fisher to the grand jury. The indictment charges Fisher with rape of a child and aggravated sexual battery involving a 4-year-old girl. Fisher remains in custody at the Madison County jail, held in lieu of $125,000 bond. He will be arraigned on October 10 in circuit court. The case began on April 26, when police received a call from a woman reporting that her 4-year-old daughter had been molested by Fisher. The investigation determined that Fisher had raped and inappropriately touched the girl at his home in mid April. He admitted to the crime to investigators.
