Tashaundra Mosely was sentenced for her part of what led to the murder of Carolyn Ward, 61 of Chester County in 2009.. “She’s a good person. She just got caught up,” said Carol Carter, Mosley’s aunt. Mosley was sentenced to 20 years, Monday. In a former trial, co-defendant John Freeland, Jr. was sentenced to die by lethal injection and co-defendant Marcus Thompson will not be eligible for parole until age 96. Mosely’s attorney, George Googe, said Mosely’s testimony and cooperation with the state was critical in the prosecution of her co-defendants. “It kind of help put the pieces of the puzzle together with her knowledge of the situation,” said Googe. Carter said she hope this situation serves as a lesson to young people. “Young people don’t be easily influenced. Don’t run with the wrong crowd. I mean, don’t try to fit in where you get in. Try to be yourself,” said adds. Googe said Mosely could be eligible for parole after serving 30 percent of her sentence.
