ABC 7 Eyewitness News has learned more about the hours before and after an elderly Maury City woman was shot and killed inside her home back in August. As ABC 7 Eyewitness News first reported Monday, Dustin Michael Cathey, 24, was arrested and charged in the shooting death of Lila Lilley, 89. Investigators believe Cathey was outside Lilley’s home when he fired a fatal shot with a stolen .22 caliber handgun. Investigators said Cathey stole the gun and its gun box from his grandmother in July and less than and hour after killing Lilley, sold the weapon. Cathey is charged with first degree murder, aggravated burglary, theft and vandalism. He is scheduled to appear in court, Thursday.
