Henderson County Senior Citizen Charged in Burglary
The elderly woman in a surveillance video ABC 7 Eyewitness News aired on Friday breaking into a Henderson County home has been arrested thanks to several calls. Investigators said they had at least 15 calls come in over the weekend, all directing them towards the same woman. They brought Betsy Elaine Meadows, 60, in for questioning Monday and although she denies the woman in the video is her, investigators said it is very clear it is Meadows. According to one of her relatives, Meadows is addicted to prescription medication, and this is not the first time she has stolen from someone. “Apparently this happened enough times to the victim that he was able to purchase video equipment and set it up and obviously it paid off in this case, because we were able to identify who was in his home,” said Sheriff Brian Duke Meadows is charged with aggravated burglary and theft under $500.
