Carroll County Looking for Lake Name

The new lake in Carroll County is about 70 percent full and leaders say it will be ready in April; however, they are still searching for a name. That is why the Chamber of Commerce is asking community members to submit their suggestions as to what they think the thousand acre lake should be called. The Chamber will review the submissions in about a month and turn them over to a marketing firm to make the final decision. Chamber Director Brad Hurley said while the name probably wont determine whether locals head out on the water, it is crucial to attracting tourists. “There are other Carroll Counties across the nation, there’s other Carroll lakes, across the nation. We’ve got to be sensitive to that and make sure that our name is distinctive, yet does tell people where the lake is located,” said Hurley. If you would like to submit a name suggestion you can find forms at any of the city halls in Carroll County or at the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. You can also make a suggestion online. http://carrollcounty-tn-chamber.com/index-3.htm
