Community members and those who work with victims of domestic violence meet to learn how to better deal with the issue. Those attending the 14th annual conference on the subject, heard a survivor’s story, learned about the use of technology and safety, plus dealing with vicarious trauma. About 110 attendees listened to experts on the problem and received information in a handout about six recent cases in West Tennessee that shows the seriousness of the problem in West Tennessee. “There’s hope for the future for us to do something to help victims’ recovery and maybe even to diminish the number of cases that are out there,” said Margaret Cole, executive director of WRAP. Organizers said if you are a victim and need help, contact law enforcement or WRAP at 1 (800) 273-8712. You can also visit http://wraptn.org.
