Homicide Loss Survivor Walk Held
The campus of Union University hosted the family members of murder victims, Monday evening, as they honored and remembered the lives of their loved ones. More than 300 homicide-loss survivors took to the campus for the 4th annual “Remember Me” commemorative walk. Participants also released balloons and each was given a teddy bear. Organizers say events like this are very important to the families. “We are saying by doing this our loved ones are important,” said Theresa Blakley, event organizer. “They will not be forgotten and we will forever be changed by their loss, but we are strong and resilient people.” Film producer Brooks Douglass was the guest speaker. He is also a homicide-loss victim.
