With Halloween one week away, state leaders are taking the necessary efforts to keep sex offenders away from children. Each convicted offender who lives in the state has signed a letter prohibiting them from participating in Halloween activities. Offenders are banned from wearing costumes, giving out candy and decorating their homes. Local authorities monitor offenders all year long, but especially during this time of year when under no circumstances is it appropriate for them to be anywhere near children.
