Union City PD Investigating Armed Robbery
Union City police officials are searching for two men caught on camera this morning robbing a West Tennessee convenience store. It happened around 2:00, Tuesday morning in Union City, where the victim said a young man walked in and pulled a gun on her, but at first she just thought it was a Halloween prank. “It is Halloween week, I’ve had tricks played on me before. I thought alright, I’ll play fool, but he said either I’m going rob you or I’m robbing you, I thought, hmm, he wasn’t fooling,” says Jackeline Watkins. Watkins said the suspect had a gun in one hand and an empty bag in the other, then ordered her to empty the register. Investigators said the suspect, armed with the gun, was covered head-to-toe in clothing, but is believed to be a slender, black man with light skin. The suspect was wearing a gray hoodie that covered his head and a white bandanna that covered his face, purple sagging shorts, plaid blue underwear, and gray/blue shoes. Video of the incident showed another black male who officials believed acted as a look out. He has braided hair, medium to dark complexion, black, long-sleeve shirt, and dark pants. Police said he entered the store several minutes before the robbery and left just seconds before the gunman entered, waiting around the corner with the escape vehicle. The vehicle is believed to be a green Ford Expedition with light colored running boards and bumpers. The vehicles windows appeared to be heavily tinted.
