Outdoor Marijuana Grow Discovered in Bemis

Madison County deputies are looking for the suspect behind a massive marijuana grow operation in south Jackson worth more than $400,000. Deputies received a tip, leading them to a wooded area behind the 500 block of South Massachusetts Street in Bemis. 252 plants, standing 3 to 4 feet tall were seized, some already growing semi-mature buds. Deputies told 7 Eyewitness News if the plants reached full maturity, they would be worth $1,000 per pound.
