Toys for Tots Kick-off

In front of one of Santa’s favorite stops for Christmas, the Marine Corps League Detachment 735 announced their partnership to make certain kids have something under the tree this year. The Toys for Tots Foundation is partnering with the United States Marine Corps to bring smiles to millions of children living in poverty across the country. Now through December 4, new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at Toys-R-Us and Babies-R-Us stores, nationwide. Cash donations are also being accepted. The Marines will be in front of the store again Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. “Especially, in this economy, that the children have a better Christmas. That is what it is all about. It’s all about the kids,” said Russ Martz, commandant of the Marine Corps League, Detachment 735. In 2010, the Toys-R-Us fundraising campaign raised more than $3.6 million and collected more than 325, 000 toys which helped the Marines Toys for Tots Foundation provides gifts to more than 7 million children across the United States.
