Former Teacher Indicted on Sex Charge

Bethany Dyer, the former Gibson County High School teacher accused of raping a student, will stand trial on the charges. According to the sheriff’s department, Dyer was indicted this week by a Gibson County grand jury. She is charged with statutory rape by an authority figure and aggravated statutory rape. The male student she was accused of attacking testified to their encounter, during a hearing last week. Dyer is scheduled to make her next court appearance, Thursday.
