A day of honor for those serving and who have served in the United States military on Veterans Day. Jackson State Community College joined a nationwide effort to honor American servicemen and women who paid the ultimate price in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past decade. Faculty, students and service personnel began a roll call of names of those who lost their lives in the two countries. There was also a moment of silence this afternoon at one to recognize the signing of the armistice ending World War I. “I am actually a Navy vet myself and it is a matter of honor and respect to participate,” said Felicia Williams, a student. “It could have very easily been my name, my husband’s name, my brother’s or my uncle.”
