Santa Train Journey Set
The Santa Train is set to make its 69th annual run through the Appalachia area of Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee.
The run begins Saturday morning in Shelby, Ky., and rolls south to end in Kingsport.
Husband-and-wife country music act Thompson Square are the celebrity guests aboard the CSX train, from which 15 tons of toys and gifts will be distributed at 14 stops along the 100-mile route. Keifer and Shawna Thompson will perform a short concert on the train platform in Kingsport at the conclusion of the run.
CSX, Food City, Kids Wish Network and the Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce sponsor the trip.
The Wish Network donated more than $500,000 worth of toys for this year’s run.
