There will be a huge advantage for drivers over the Thanksgiving holiday as the Tennessee Department of Transportation is opening up as many lanes of traffic as possible. Monday, TDOT announced it will halt all lane closure activity on Interstates and state highways beginning Wednesday at 12 Noon until 6, Monday morning. During this time, construction crews may still be working at some sites, so drivers are urged to be alert to speed limit signs. Tickets in construction zones carry up to a $500 fine.
