A center that serves women down on their luck and with no place to go, cut ribbons on their new kitchen and new play area, Wednesday. Clients and officials of The Dream Center of Jackson said the new kitchen will make the facility feel more like a home for its clients. The center serves women with or without children and gives them a place where women can start over, get back in their feet, find a job and stop the downward spiral. “Having a kitchen here is like having milk with your cookies,” said Gail Gustafson, executive director of The Dream Center. “I mean you have to have it. This is something you have to have. Now we can teach the ladies how to plan menus, do health food choices, how to cook, some of the ladies don’t know how to cook.” In addition a new playground was unveiled. The Dream Center was established in May 2003 and reminds women if you need help, all you have to do is call.
