Truck Crashes in South Madison County

Investigators said a single-vehicle wreck along Highway 45 in South Madison County, claimed a Georgia man’s life, Wednesday afternoon. Around 3 p.m., troopers said the driver, 54-year-old James Westmoreland, Jr., of Georgia, was headed south along Highway 45 in South Madison County when he ran off the road, over corrected and hit a tree. Troopers said Westmoreland was the only one in the pick-up truck at the time and was wearing a seat belt. No other vehicles were involved. Investigators have not said what caused Westmoreland to wreck.
