Several Gas Stations Busted for Synthetic Narcotics
Some of the items seized Monday from one gas station were Ephoria, Cush, Posh, 3 in one, and One Love. “There have been confirmed deaths from these substances. Many people have been hospitalized here as a result of them,” Lt. Mark Byrum said. Eleven gas stations were all visited at the same time. Metro Narcotics was helped by the TBI, FBI, ATF, and several local units. 46 people took part in this operation. Byrum said, “These are much more dangerous than your regular street drugs because they have not been out that long and have not been studied and not real sure what the effect they are going to have on the human body.” Samples of the substances seized Monday will be sent to the TBI Crime lab. “Many of them are being produced within the United States, they are taking a lot of the plant material and lacing it with some other chemical substance and distributing it out mostly amongst stores,” said Byrum. The goal for today was to get a lot of the inventory off the streets.
