Negro League Exhibit Opens In Humboldt
Names like Satchel Paige and Cool Papa Bell may not catch the ear of baseball fans of today but they are among the pacesetters of Negro Baseball League. Now West Tennessee residents can journey to Humboldt to learn about their prowess and the accomplishments of scores just like them. The Tom and O.E. Stigall Ethnic Library is hoisting an exhibit geared towards the Negro League from Friday through January 9. ” We want to help them understand it was an organized league and they were pride in the community and they were all considered as achievers,” said exhibit committee chairman Johnny Cyrus.
