Former TN Coach Indicted
A former teacher and coach in Blount County has been indicted on sex charges involving teenage girls.
A grand jury returned indictments Monday against 40-year-old Robert Paul Talley, who had resigned as a history teacher and softball coach at Alcoa High School on Oct. 27. The Knoxville News Sentinel reported Talley’s accusers are two girls who played on the team Talley coached.
Alcoa Police Chief Ken Burge provided information stating Talley was indicted on five counts of statutory rape by an authority figure, two counts of sexual battery by an authority figure and two counts of solicitation of a minor for sexual battery by an authority figure.
Talley had been released by Tuesday from the Blount County Jail which had no record of an attorney for him.
