Turkey 5K Raises 5K

This year’s annual Thanksgiving Day “Turkey Trot” 5-K, raised, well, 5-K. The event, hosted by Gold’s Gym in Jackson, donated the money to Regional Inter Faith Association or RIFA. In the seventh annual event, organizers said being able to give back is the best part of the entire event. “It’s very gratifying. It makes all the work we do just seem effortless when you see the gratitude that they show us just by the look on their faces,” said Steve Roten, general manager of Golds’ Gym in Jackson. 674 runners participated, up from around 150 from last year’s total.
