Alamo Begins Downtown Project

Better sidewalks, lights, landscaping improvements are all part of the plan. Alamo has applied for an $807,500 federal grant through the TDOT enhancement program. Crockett County has also requested money. “It is funded about a $612,000 project, eighty percent of it is grant money, the remaining twenty percent will have to be funded by the county,” said Crockett County Mayor Gary Reasons. The Mayor said taxes will not go up. The additional 20 percent will come from the county general fund.
