THP To Saturate Highway During Holidays

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is planning Christmas and New Year’s enforcement as part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” program. During the holiday period, which starts Friday night, state troopers will be using several enforcement tools such as saturation patrols, bar checks, and driver’s license and sobriety checkpoints to ensure traffic safety. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, during the 2010 Christmas holiday period, six people were killed in traffic crashes on Tennessee roadways.
