Local retailer Felecia Bella claims holiday sales were the highest it has ever been. The retailer opened its doors in 2006 and is located in both Jackson and Rutherford. Employees at the small business believe the record sales were in part due to people’s efforts to shop locally. With two major holidays, Christmas and Thanksgiving, employees said this year was their best holiday season. “We had our greatest Black Friday ever. It was wonderful. I think people really learned to shop locally,” said Sales Associate Jane Lineberry. Lineberry said using social media sites like Facebook helped to create traffic in the boutique. “I like shopping locally because it is a hand on experience. The sales person is there to help you and you can always be assured that you will have personal assistance,” said Cynthia Pearson, a local shopper. Shoppers said instead of traveling to Memphis or Nashville, It is best to support locally owned stores that will benefit the area long term.
