Occupy Murfreesboro Breaks Camp
Protesters have broken camp after nearly a month in Murfreesboro.
Scott Martindale said the Occupy Murfreesboro protesters decided to – as he put it – “redeploy…assets.”
Martindale and two women moved their general assembly meeting inside a library on Monday night as temperatures fell, according to The Daily News Journal The temperature had fallen to 21 degrees by 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Protester Joan Hill of Murfreesboro, who was not among those who camped out at Civic Plaza, said an aim of the group was to raise awareness of inequity of income.
By evening, all that remained of the camp was an old mattress, two pieces of cinder block, a paint can and an ash tray.
