Two Madison County deputies have been suspended after being accused of failing to properly check on an inmate who killed himself while on suicide watch. The sheriff has placed Deputy Tamara Taylor, 34, and Deputy Josh Hogg, 27, on paid administrative leave pending their January 11 disciplinary hearing. According to the sheriff, an investigation found Taylor and Hogg failed to make required and timely checks on inmate Jonathan Carter. The 24-year man from Huntingdon was on suicide watch when he hanged himself inside his cell on December 20.
