Teen Shot in Buttocks in Hunting Accident

A teen was shot in the buttocks in an apparent accidental shooting, Monday. According to the Madison County Sheriff‘s Department, the incident happened around 4:30pm Monday afternoon in a wooded area near Deep Gap Road. Investigators were called to Jackson Madison County General Hospital after the victim, Joseph Wilbanks, 18, was taken to the emergency room after the incident. Authorities said four people including Wilbanks were squirrel hunting when a juvenile accidentally shot him with a rifle while walking behind him. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
