The principal of Jackson-Madison County’s Alternative School, Parkview Learning Center has been chosen as the new president of a state-wide organization for similar educators. Paul Thacker has been elected as the president of the Tennessee Alternative Education Association. He is the first African-American elected to the position. The association helps provide advocacy and support for professionals who work on behalf of children receiving alternative educational services. Thacker has been in education for 36 years and served in the alternative school setting for the past six years.
