MCSD: Suspect Taken to Jail with a Gun in his Pocket

A man arrested by an officer with the Jackson Police Department reportedly made it all the way to jail with a gun still in his pocket. According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, James Dennis Douglass, 46, was brought to the Criminal Justice Complex by Jackson Police Officer Dennis “Tyler” Schrupp, Wednesday. Upon Douglass’s arrival, jail personnel reported finding a loaded .32 caliber semi-automatic handgun with four live rounds in his coat pocket. Douglass was originally charged with DUI, violation of implied consent law, no proof of insurance and violation of open container law. The Sheriff’s Department has also charged Douglass with introducing contraband into a penal institution.
