Cribbs Sentenced on Federal Weapons Charge

Former Dyer County Sheriff Tommy Cribbs is headed back to prison. This week, Cribbs was sentenced to two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to having a gun as a convicted felon. The charge stems from a June 2009 incident where investigators said they found several guns in his home. Three other federal charges against him were dropped. In 1985, the former sheriff was sentenced to five years after pleading guilty to several charges including beating inmates and insurance fraud.
