Some fire experts said they have found a way to keep a destructive fire from consuming your home. Thursday , a company showcased a home fire sprinkler system for Jackson city leaders. They argue that installing them in homes or including them when building could greatly reduce overall damage and deadly house fires because studies have shown in 90 percent of cases, sprinklers can control a fire. “If you put the value on a life if a life could be saved as a result of having that early suppression that the fire sprinkler provides then it is well worth the cost,” said Vickie Pritchett with Fire Team USA. Unlike commercial systems, in-home system sprinklers work individually. Experts said a common misconception is that sprinklers can be triggered by smoke, when actually they can only be set off through heat.
