Students Celebrate Black History Month at Alexander Elementary
Students at a Jackson Elementary School put on a one-of-a-kind Black History program, Friday. 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students at Alexander Elementary presented a program that gave students a look through time at significant African Americans. The program featured singing from the school’s music program. School officials said programs like these are beneficial for everyone. “I think understanding about our history and cultures and where we come from is extremely important and knowing how we are going to be planning our futures. so there students have done a really good job,” said Jill Hodum, principal of Alexander Elementary. A special thanks for the program went to Liberty Technology’s Arts Program for collaborating with the students at Alexander Elementary.
