Residents Take The Polar Plunge

Fifty Jacksonians took part in the Polar Plunge Saturday, including 7 Eyewitness News Meteorologist Brittany Patterson. Participants plunged into freezing waters at Aloha pools wearing costumes to raise money to sponsor local athletes. The thousands of dollars raised will allow the athletes to participate in the Special Olympics. Organizer Randi Ezelle said, “Its fun. I think they are kind of thrilled and scared at the same time to jump in that cold water.” Those who did not want to participate in the Chicken run. There, plungers could run barefoot in groups through a kiddy pool.
