There will be no other incidents of violent crime at the Karma Ultra Lounge. It has been permanently closed. According to Mayor Jerry Gist, the owner, Jerry Gardner surrendered both his beer permit, along with his business license, Tuesday. A release from the Mayor said the action is the result of discussions between Gardner’s lawyer and the city attorney. The development comes after the city threatened to go to court to close the business as a public nuisance action. The city is also looking at other night clubs that have a high incidence of police calls to determine if they are meeting responsibility to maintain proper control over the crowds they attract.
