Hundreds Attend Alzheimer’s Conference
More than 250 people attended a conference geared at helping people care for those with Alzheimer’s disease. The second annual Alzheimer’s Caregiver Conference was held, Thursday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. The conference, which was organized by West Tennessee Healthcare, Union University and the Alzheimer’s Association, was designed to provide attendees with helpful information about Alzheimer’s disease, care-giving, coping and valuable resources. Topics covered at the event included the basics of Alzheimer’s, how to communicate with a person who has dementia and finding joy in care giving. Planners hope the event continues to grow next year.
