ETSU Conducts Fertility Trials
East Tennessee State University says it is the only U.S.-based site for a clinical trial about fertility.
The school said in a news release that the research study is using three-dimensional gynecological ultrasound technology. It could lead to better understanding of blood vessel formation in the ovaries.
The clinical trial is being led by scientists in Spain.
ETSU’s Physicians Fertility Services is the only center in the region offering 3-D gynecology ultrasound, the news release said.
Abnormal vascular architecture in the ovaries can affect infertility and the development of ovarian cancer.
