Lone Occupy Member Remains
A lone protester maintains his vigil at the Occupy Nashville camp on Legislative Plaza.
Everyone but Christopher Humphrey left the tents in front of the state Capitol before the deadline of midnight Thursday arrived.
As dawn broke on Friday, a state trooper was at the plaza, but had made no move to arrest Humphrey.
The Occupy encampment began in October.
The Legislature last month passed a statute prohibiting camping on state property that is not specifically designated for it. Gov. Bill Haslam signed the bill into law and the Occupy campers were given a seven-day warning on March 2.
State troopers raided the encampment in late October and made 55 arrests, but Haslam ordered the charges dropped when Nashville courts refused to jail the protesters.
