The Madison County Sheriff said he has the man responsible for a 2011 murder behind bars. The body of Nora Ann Crawley, 39, of Shelbyville was found in West Madison County last May. She was discovered just down an embankment on Aaron Long Road. The sheriff said thanks to DNA found at the scene, deputies have identified a person of interest. Though he is not releasing the person’s name, the sheriff said he knows exactly where he is. “In talking with the TBI, they have such a backlog in having to analyze cases from all over the state of Tennessee, so that was a fairly reasonable turn-around time so we’re satisfied with that.” said Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork. “He’s in custody. He has a very high bond and he won’t be released. I believe he’s in custody on some additional rape charges.” The sheriff said the case file has been handed over to the attorney general’s office for its review. An exact cause of death was never made public.
