Students To Open Record Label

Music City U.S.A. is getting a student-run record label.

It will be operated next school year by students at Nashville’s Pearl-Cohn Entertainment Magnet School. According to a news release from the city, the label will operate identically to a real music label by signing, recording and promoting student artists from across the school district.

A Pearl-Cohn student will be named to direct the record label each year. It will include different music genres.

Any revenue from the record sales will go toward the city’s music education programs.
