Man Charged in Break-in and Assault in Humboldt

Humboldt police have arrested and charged a man in a weekend sexual assault. According to a news release, Mark Anthony Wise, 38, of Humboldt has been charged with aggravated burglary, sexual battery and attempted rape. On Sunday, a twenty-six year old female reported to Humboldt police that a person she had previously met knocked on her door, then forced his way into her house and inappropriately touched her before she was able to fight him off. Wise was identified the suspect and arrested on Monday. He was arraigned in Humboldt General Sessions Court, Wednesday, and bond has been set at $75,000.
