Light Pole Saves Man And Child’s Life

An accident that started on Vann Drive and ended near Interstate 40 left one man hospitalized Sunday. Officials credit a light pole for saving the life of one man and the child in the backseat of the vehicle. Jackson Police said a man was driving along Vann Drive when he had a seizure and ran through a fence. His car was heading toward I-40 when he hit a light pole. Officials said the pole stopped the driver from crashing in to an 18 wheeler headed west bound on I-40. Police said the pole saved the life of not only the driver, but the child in the back seat. According to Jackson Police, the man has been transported to the Jackson General Hospital. The man suffered non life threatening injuries. Officials said the child is okay thanks to a car seat.
